About the Summit

Science Summit on Urban Water is a series international conference, held once every two years. The conference was co-organized by International Water Association (IWA), Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). The conference has become IWA’s brand event in the field of urban water science and technology.

The summit was successfully held three times in September 2011, July 2014 and November 2016. The 4th IWA Science Summit will be held in Harbin in November 25-27, 2018. The conference will be held in the State Key Lab of Urban Water Resource and Environment of HIT. The chairman of the Summit is Prof Nanqi Ren, member of CAE, Vice president of HIT.  The executive chair is Prof Yu Tian of HIT.

The conference will invite more than 30 world-renowned scientists and engineers to give the plenary or invited talks based on the conference topics. The conference will also organize a Summit Session, which was designed to propose detailed solutions to the urban water problems in China by famous scientists and engineers from all over the world. During the conference period, we will also organize a forum of international conference for Young Water Professional (YWP).

All abstract papers can be contributed and we will select high-quality papers from the conference to publish in IWA Journals, by the long-standing relationship between IWA’s conferences and IWA Publishing’s peer-reviewed (and ISI-listed) journal Water Science and Technology and its adjunct journals Water Science and Technology: Water Supply and Water Practice and Technology. We will also recommend some high-quality paper to Environmental Engineering Journal of HIT, et al.
